Frequently Asked Questions: Junk Removal & Disposal
What happens to my junk after you haul it away?
We prioritize responsible disposal. Items are sorted so that usable goods can be donated to local charities, recyclables like metal and cardboard are processed correctly, and the remaining non-recyclable waste is taken to a certified landfill or transfer station in the Gadsden area. Can you haul away hazardous materials?
No. For safety and legal reasons, we cannot accept hazardous waste, including wet paint, chemicals, asbestos, medical waste, or radioactive materials. These require specialized handling that a standard junk removal service is not permitted to provide.Do I need to be home for the pickup?
While we prefer you to be present to confirm the items and finalize the weight estimate, we can often arrange for "curbside" pickups if the items are clearly marked and placed in a prominent, accessible area like a driveway. Why is there a $50 fee for tires and $100 for batteries?
Alabama state regulations have strict rules regarding the disposal of scrap tires and lead-acid batteries. Facilities charge significant surcharges for these items because they require specialized recycling processes to prevent environmental contamination. How do you handle heavy construction debris like concrete or shingles?
Because these materials are extremely dense, they reach our 1-ton limit quickly. We recommend placing these items in a separate pile so we can provide a more accurate weight estimate before loading begins. What should I do to prepare for my junk removal day?
To ensure a smooth pickup, please clearly separate the items you want removed from anything you plan to keep. Having a clear path from your door or an empty driveway allows our team to work quickly and safely
